In early December, sales from the late Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection at Christie’s nearly reached a record-breaking $116 million. That record has since been shattered earlier this week, after the auction house’s New York and London locations hosted a series of sales from the late actress’s estate. The entire collection sold for a whopping $183 million, including 38 seminal works of art from Taylor’s impressive collection, sold exclusively in London .
As the daughter of esteemed art dealer Francis Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor invested much of her earnings in fine art. Below are my two favorite items from the auction.
Vincent Van Gogh’s Vue de l’Asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy, 1889
Joan Miro’s Painting Poem, 1925
