There’s an ongoing joke in my family that if we can’t find my mom, it probably means that she’s getting her hair done. Make no mistake about it, she is a very put together lady! When I was growing up, she always taught me to prioritize my beauty regimen: never go to sleep with makeup on, never underestimate the power of expensive eye cream, and never go longer than 6 months without a haircut. The haircut “rule” is what spurs my obsession for haircare products. Constantly on the search for the best shampoo, hair masks, and serums for my hair, I recently discovered Julien Farel’s Vitamin Restore, a 2-in-1 shampoo and deep conditioning treatment. My review is below:
Product: Julien Farel Vitamin Restore
Details: A paraben-free, anti-aging hair treatment that cleanses, heals, and conditions your scalp, bringing your hair back to a healthy state and leaving your strands visibly softer, shinier, and more manageable. Made specifically for color and chemically treated hair.
Price: $33 at Dermstore.com
Pros: As far as packaging goes, I love the squeeze bottle with easy nozzle applicator. The product makes my hair super soft and lustrous, and eliminates flyaways… and did I mention it makes my hair super soft?
Cons: The product gives off a slightly toxic smell in the shower. It’s not overwhelming and my hair smells nice and fresh when it’s rinsed and dry, but while the treatment is setting I can’t help but think is this stuff bad for me?
Final Say: I give it a 4 out of 5! If you want to look like you just left the salon, this is the product for you. I love how soft, smooth, and shiny my hair is after using it–I can’t stop touching it!
P.S.: I should mention that even though Vitamin Restore is specifically designed for color or chemically treated hair, my locks are neither of those things. Visit julienfarel.com for more information on Julien Farel’s other cleansing conditioning treatments.
